Hello!

 I've been wanting to start a blog for a few years now, and I finally did it!


Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am an artist who lives in Denver, Colorado. I'm a lover all things in the natural world and consider myself a mountain woman. My husband and I have 3 fur babies Sola, Obiwan, and Rey (yes, they are Star Wars dogs).


This is where I'm going to share all of my new fishing adventures, behind the scene art project photos, vegan recipes and all sorts of other awesomeness!

These are some habits I have developed on my journey to becoming a Freelance Artist. Keeping a planner This one is a must for me. I have consistently kept a planner for 7 years now. My planner of choice is a 8"x5" Moleskine weekly planner. In it I schedule out appointments, mural dates, commission deadlines and events. I also have been getting into the habit of recording special moments in my planner. These are just wildlife sightings, happy moments and anything I'd want to remember about that year. It's important to record your inspiration in a notebook or sketchbook. Time management Learn how you spend your time creating. Some creators are night owls, some are early birds, and some are most productive in the middle of the day. If you know what times you're creative most, you can schedule accordingly. Mulligatawny Detox Soup

My allergies are really acting up lately and I need this soup!  This recipe is amazing!! If you are sick, feeling chubby, or just need a good healthy soup this recipe is for you!  Turn Crock Pot on High Heat Ingredients 2 Granny Smith Apples (peeled, cored and diced) 6 Medium Carrots (peeled and diced) 1 Medium Yellow Onion 4 Cloves of Garlic (minced) 1 Inch fresh Ginger (peeled and graded) 2 Cups of Cauliflower Florettes (chopped) 2 heaping Cups of Cabbage (thinly shredded) 1 Tablespoon of Avocado Oil 2 Teaspoons of Curry Powder 1 Teaspoon of Tumeric 1/2 Teaspoon of Cayanne Pepper 4 Cups of Water 2 Cups of Organic Super Veggie Juice 14 oz Can of Chickpeas (drained) Combine all the Ingredients above and let them cook down. Cook for 4-6 hours or until vegetables are fully soft. Then add: 14 oz Can of Culinary Coconut Milk 2 Teaspoons of Brown Rice Syrup Salt to taste Cook for 30 more minutes, then serve. My Journey into Fly Fishing

Me learning how to cast. It all started when I wanted a bike, yes, a bike! It was last summer and all I wanted was a cruiser bicycle to ride around in my neighborhood. After showing my husband all the bikes I wanted, he suggested we spend the money on a fly rod and reel.  We had been talking about getting in to fly fishing for a while so it was a no-brainer.  Cabelas Prestige rod and reel We went to Cabelas and found the Prestige kit. It has a rod, reel, line, and all the tools you need to start out. We also found some Cabelas brand waders and boots that were a great price. I was all ready to fish and all for under $400.  The next day we went to the South Platte River near Deckers, CO. I watched my husband cast for a while and he insisted I hop into the river and give it a go.
